Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County (Habitat Bucks) will open its second ReStore on Earth Day, Friday, April 22nd at 10am.  The new ReStore is located in the Langhorne Square Shopping Center, 1337 East Lincoln Highway in Langhorne.  The ReStore accepts donations of overstocked, discontinued, new and used building materials, furniture, appliances and household goods from manufacturers, retail stores, contractors and individuals.  Donated items are then sold to the general public at low costs.  Habitat Bucks currently operates a ReStore in Chalfont.

Grand Opening weekend starts at 10am on Friday with Earth Day themed events, and ends with a Family Activity day on Saturday.  The first 50 customers on Friday will be entered to win various prizes including a Terrarium, Gift Certificates and Tool Boxes.  One lucky winner will take 50% off their total purchase!  Seed packets of various herbs and flowers were donated by Burpee and will be handed-out for free while supplies last.  “The community has blessed us with so many great donations,” said B.J. Breish, ReStore Director.  “Plan to be here all day, and while you are shopping, be sure to check out our information booths offering water conservation tips, and instructions on how to build rain barrels and simple compost bins.”

Snipes Farm & Educational Center will be on site on Friday to talk about their Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA).  On Saturday workshops for children will be offered, and two lucky children will win tickets to Sesame Place.  There will also be a visit by Marshall from Paw Patrol.

“We hope to see everyone in the community during our Grand Opening so that we can all celebrate this milestone, which would not have been possible without their support.  The new Langhorne ReStore will be a source of sustainable funding of our mission to build communities and empower families in Bucks County,” said Florence Kawoczka, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County.

The new Habitat Restore in Langhorne will join the more than 860 Habitat ReStores located throughout the world.  In 2015, over 3 million ReStore donations diverted more than 124,000 tons of material from landfills nationwide.

The Langhorne ReStore accepts donations at the store from Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm.  Larger items can be picked-up at residences or businesses for free.  To arrange for a free donation pick-up, visit the Habitat Bucks website at www.Habitatbucks.org or call 215- 822-2708.

About Habitat Bucks

The mission of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County is “Building Homes, Empowering Families.”  Habitat Bucks has an open-door policy: All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, and volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds are invited to serve people in need of decent housing.

The Habitat Bucks Homeownership Program provides an opportunity for low-income families to increase their independence and economic well-being through home ownership and educational opportunities.  Habitat partner families work hard for their homes; they contribute an average of 200 hours of sweat equity and will pay a mortgage for their home.  Through these unique programs, families acquire a sense of ownership and responsibility that they may not have as renters or tenants.

Since their founding in 1990, Habitat Bucks has built 101 affordable homes in Bucks County.  Through their A Brush With Kindness program, Habitat Bucks makes repairs to the exteriors of homes, including painting, porch repair and the installation of handicapped accessible ramps.  Revenue from Habitat ReStores provides a source of sustainable funding for the construction and repair of homes.
